Mr Herman Hui has been a practicing solicitor in Hong Kong since 1976 and is well connected in the business and social welfare sectors.

Mr Hui is a keen supporter of social services and has been serving various positions in the advisory boards of both Government and non-government organisations since 80's. Currently Mr Hui is serving as the Chairperson of Council of Queen Elizabeth Foundation for the Mentally Handicapped, Social Welfare Department Child Fatality Review Panel and the Salvation Army Social Service Advisory Committee and as a member of Correctional Services Department Complaints Appeal Board and Hospital Authority Public Complaints Committee.

Mr Hui was appointed as a member of IPCC in 2015 and is now the Chairperson of its Operations Advisory Committee.
